Artist Statement

I create mixed media paintings that move between abstraction and figuration. My work begins without a fixed plan, using acrylic paint, collage, texture, writing, and layers that build over time. Faces emerge, disappear, and return as I cut, repaint, and transform the canvas. Rather than creating traditional portraits, I build emotional landscapes where multiple identities, symbols, and memories can exist together.

I make this work because I am fascinated by transformation. Each painting reflects my own process of letting go, trusting uncertainty, and allowing the artwork to reveal itself instead of forcing an outcome. The repeated faces represent emotion, feminine identity, resilience, and the many versions of ourselves that can exist at once. My process is just as important as the finished painting; every layer leaves a trace of what came before.

I hope these paintings invite viewers to slow down, look closely, and find their own stories within them. In a world that often asks us to be one thing, my work celebrates complexity, change, and the beauty of becoming.
